The SOCOM 5/8-24 muzzle adapter addresses the need for threaded interface for SOCOM rifles.  Springfield Armory®* SOCOM rifles are 16” barrel M1A variants with proprietary muzzle threads and an integral gas lock front sight and muzzle brake. 

This adapter consists of a thread adapter and separate gas lock front sight designed to work with the adapter.  By using two components, the thread adapter can register securely on the barrel shoulder without being pulled off-axis when the gas plug is installed in the gas lock front sight.

 The SOCOM 5/8-24 muzzle adapter retains reliable function, factory sight geometry and allows the gas plug to function normally.  The shoulder behind the accessory thread clears the installed gas plug to allow large diameter accessory mounting without requiring a special length gas plug. The adapter provides industry standard 5/8-24 UNEF 3A RH muzzle accessory mounting threads.  Added length to the barrel is similar to the factory muzzle brake/ gas lock front sight casting.
